About Me

I am a .NET C# developer in Tampa, FL.  I was born and raised in Sofia, Bulgaria.  When I was young, I learned how to program in Basic and Visual Basic in order to use programming to complete my word search homework for me.  I moved to the United States when I was 15 years old and continued to make apps for fun and to solve problems.  I started to realize then that I wanted a career in software and that it was something I would enjoy doing the rest of my life.  In college I pursued computer science and took all the programming classes and ended up skipping all the general education requirements (oops, they weren't as exciting..).  I was hired in my 3rd year of college to work at Raymond James Financial and worked from an entry level developer up to the team lead.  From there, I moved to Bloomin' Brands and currently work there on restaurant applications.  I am passionate in technology because I enjoy solving problems and coding makes me happy.  I believe this is what I was meant to do.

Outside of work, I have been learning Azure and Containers with a group of friends to make applications and tutorials that are proofs of concepts for people to learn. I used Android Studio and Java to make my mobile app.  I work with C# and Unity on games.  I think it is important to make blog posts and side projects to share with others so they can learn.  I see people trying to get into tech and the more material I can help share to assist them, the better chance they have at succeeding at what they love to do.  When I can, I try to help mentor others in learning programming and how to interview better.

For hobbies, I love to play games and some of my favorites include DOTA 2, Borderlands, Portal, Grand Theft Auto, and Assassin's Creed. Some of my favorite board games include Exploding Kittens, Betrayal, Coup, Settlers, and Codenames.  I like to go skiing, biking, and play tennis, as well for hobbies.  On the side, I also enjoy building computers and keeping up with the newest computer parts.  I am always up to date on the latest tech coming out and can't wait to see what new tech the future brings.

I also love animals and have a Siberian cat named Yogurt (Иогърт), who you can see enjoys helping me with writing software and gaming at home.  He is named after "yogurt" the food because in Bulgaria, we are famous for our delicious yogurt.. however in Bulgarian the actual word for "yogurt" is "кисело мляко", which translates out to "sour milk" in English, and I just didn't have the heart to name him that...
